Getting started
When you first open Nolvune, it asks to become your default SMS app. Android only lets the default app receive and file messages, so filtering needs this. If you skipped it, open Settings in Nolvune and tap Set as default, or use Android Settings → Apps → Default apps → SMS app.
Contacts access is optional. With it, conversations show names and photos.
Rules and spam
- How filtering works. Allow rules are checked first; a message that matches one always stays in your inbox. Otherwise, a message that matches a block rule goes to Spam, marked with the rule that caught it.
- Add a rule quickly. Long-press a message and add its sender to the blocklist or allowlist. For keywords, open the Rules tab and tap Add rule.
- Rescue a message. Open it in Spam and choose Not spam.
- The free limit. Up to 10 block rules can be active at once; sender and keyword rules share the limit. Allow rules are unlimited. You can pause a rule to free a slot.
Pro and purchases
- Restore a purchase. Open Settings → Nolvune Pro → Restore purchases, signed in to the Google Play account you bought with. The Google account used for Drive backups doesn’t matter.
- Cancel a subscription. Tap Manage subscription on the Pro page, or go to Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Uninstalling does not cancel it.
- Refunds. Request one through Google Play, or email us your Google Play order number.
- Pending payments unlock Pro only once Google Play confirms them.
Full details are in the terms of use.
Backup and restore
- Open Settings and choose Message backup & restore or Rule backup & restore.
- Pick a local file, or Google Drive. Backing up to Drive requires Pro; restoring from anywhere is free.
- Message archives are encrypted with a password you set. You will need the same password to restore, and we cannot recover it.
Moving to a new phone? Back up on the old phone, install Nolvune on the new one, set it as the default SMS app, then restore.
Delete your data
Nolvune has no account, so there is no account to close. Your data lives on your phone and in the backups you made. To remove it:
- Messages: delete conversations in Nolvune (long-press → Delete conversation). Uninstalling the app does not remove messages from Android’s message store.
- Rules, drafts and settings: Android Settings → Apps → Nolvune SMS → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.
- Local backup files: delete them in your file manager or wherever you saved them.
- Google Drive backups: delete message archives in Nolvune, or remove everything on the web at Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → Nolvune SMS → Options → Delete hidden app data.
- Google access: revoke it at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Support emails: ask us at support@sunisoft.com and we will delete our correspondence with you, except records we must keep by law.
Remember to cancel any subscription in Google Play; deleting data does not cancel it. See the privacy policy for more.
Switching to another app
Choose a different SMS app in Android Settings → Apps → Default apps → SMS app. Your messages stay in Android’s message store, so your new app will see them. Messages in Nolvune’s Spam folder are ordinary messages too; other apps will show them in their inbox.
